The Lark Galloway Gilliam Distinguished Lecture honors the life work of Lark Galloway Gilliam, co-founder and first President of the Board of the National REACH Coalition. Ms. Galloway-Gilliam, renowned for her work with empowering communities, understood the political determinants of health and the exercise of political power by those communities to address the determinants of health inequity plaguing them. She was also the Executive Director of Community Health Councils (CHC), a Los Angeles-based health promotion, advocacy and policy organization dedicated to building healthy communities.
