Biography
Spencer Willis is a member of UCATT's Educational Development team, where he designs and facilitates workshops and mini courses on active learning practices. He also teaches in the College Teaching GIDP, supporting the University's teaching community in developing effective learning activities that enhance student outcomes. In addition, Spencer offers individual consultations for the University's teaching community, helping them assess teaching needs, set professional goals, and promote growth.
He holds a joint appointment as a Lecturer at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health in the Department of Health Promotion Sciences. Previously, Spencer served as the Director of the Online MPH program and was the faculty advisor for the online MPH internship. His professional interests include college teaching, experiential learning, and promoting health through policy, systems, and environmental change.
Background & Education
Spencer is a skilled educator and health promotion practitioner with a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from Alcorn State University, a Master of Arts in Health Studies from the University of Alabama, and a Doctor of Public Health degree in Behavioral Health Promotion and Education from Jackson State University.
