What:
During National Infant Immunization Week (April 23-30), Dr. Melinda Wharton will present “Surround our Babies with Vaccinated Families,” on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the University of Arizona’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.  Her talk will cover the following areas: 

  • Identify diseases from which we protect young children by vaccinating adults and others around them (“cocooning”)
  • Describe the rationale for the cocooning strategy 
  • Describe the recent epidemiology of pertussis.

 The lecture is free and open to the public.
