Drs. James E. Dalen and Iman Hakim

The controversial issue of Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act of 2010 was the topic of Dr. James E. Dalen’s speech at the Partners in Public Health Luncheon hosted by the University of Arizona’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health on March 31, 2011.

The annual luncheon drew 90 guests to Hacienda Del Sol Resort in Tucson and generated more than $4,000 for local community outreach projects.

“Health Care Reform: Too Much or Too Little?” was the title of Dr. Dalen’s engaging talk. He explored the controversy from both sides of the issue and answered questions from the audience.

Dalen has been a member of the University of Arizona faculty since 1988. During his tenure, he served as Dean of the College of Medicine and Vice President for Health Sciences. He also played a pivotal role in the establishment of the UA College of Public Health, the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, and the Arizona Telemedicine Program.
