Medical Marijuana has been the topic of many debates in the United States eliciting strong views on both sides. In 2010 Arizona voters passed Proposition 203, which allows the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, by a margin of 50.18% to 49.87%.

The Arizona Public Health Training Center (AzPHTC) presents “Medical Marijuana: Ambiguity and Ambivalence”, a free live webinar with guest speaker Lane P. Johnson, MD, MPH, Tuesday, June 5th from 12-1 p.m.

Dr. Johnson is a professor of Clinical Family and Community Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and professor of Public Health at the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.  He is author of the Pocket Guide to Herbal Remedies and received a Health Education Multi-Media Yearly award in 2005 for his work with herbs. Dr. Johnson was a founding member of the Commitment to Underserved People (CUP) program at the UA College of Medicine, and is currently a volunteer for the clinic.
