Lynn Gerald, PhD, MSPH, associate dean of research at the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, has been appointed to the Clinical Trials Review Committee of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
The committee has the primary responsibility for providing scientific merit review of applications and proposals for the support of studies for the evaluation of preventive or therapeutic measures in blood, and cardiovascular or lung diseases, particularly through cooperative studies or controlled clinical trials.
As a member of the Arizona Respiratory Center, Dr. Gerald is a nationally known expert in the area of school based asthma including implementation of asthma management programs, school based asthma case detection and internet based asthma monitoring. She also has extensive experience in the areas of clinical, behavioral and epidemiological research in asthma, COPD, and tuberculosis.
