Graduate students from the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health presented at the 25th Annual Native Research Network conference in Phoenix in June.

The theme of the conference was resilience. Students and faculty organized an eight paper session entitled Life Course Approach to American Indian and Alaskan Native Resilience: A Series of Systematic Reviews.

The presenters and authors included DrPH students Christina Oré de Boehm, Adeline June-Tsosie and Carmella Kahn-Thornbrugh; MPH students Michele Henson, Aurora Trujillo, Sheena Brown and Shannon Whitewater; Appointed professionals Agnes Attakai and Tara M. Chico; and faculty Nicolette Teufel-Shone and Kerstin Reinschmidt.

Support for student travel was provided by the NIH funded Center for American Indian Resilience (CAIR).

The session was well received and presenters were encouraged to publish their findings recognizing the contribution of American Indian Alaska Native health literature. The PowerPoint presentations are available on the UA Center for American Indian Resilience website. A subgroup is working on a series of articles drawing on these presentations for submission to a Public Health journal.
