Tucson Region COVID-19 Communication Partnership
Thanks to the initiative of the Zuckerman Family Foundation (ZFF), together with Kim Bourn from the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) and Julia Strange from Tucson Medical Center (TMC), major healthcare providers in the Tucson region have come together to coordinate efforts and produce a series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to let the community know that they are working together to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak in Southern Arizona.
All the PSA messages direct the community to the Pima County Health Department webpage https://webcms.pima.gov/cms/One.aspx?pageId=527452&portalId=169 and the state's new 211 hotline for COVID-19 information. Both the webpage and the 211 hotline offer information in both English and Spanish.
Partners
The PSA project partners also include Banner – University Medicine, Pima County Health Department, and El Rio Health in addition to TMC, MEZCOPH, and ZFF.
Working together with the advertising agency Hilton and Myers, the group is producing a message campaign to let the region know that they are “Coming Together For You” to prepare and respond to the outbreak. The message will go out through radio, television, billboards, and digital channels.
This is not just a messaging campaign, it is also an effort to make visible the coordination and collaboration among public health professionals and front line healthcare providers around our region. From academic researchers at the University of Arizona to community health workers, our healthcare professionals will guide us through the COVID-19 outbreak. Together we will keep our community safe, secure, and healthy.
