Dean Hakim met with students at Gulf Medical University who are in the dual MPH program with GMU and MEZCOPH. Go Wildcats!
In March, Dean Iman Hakim, MD, PhD, MPH from the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) travelled to the Middle East to reconnect with our existing partners there, and to build new partnerships. She met with students and colleagues at Gulf Medical University (GMU) in the United Arab Emirates where we have the dual-degree MPH program.
Dean Hakim also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Abu Dhabi University (ADU), the first step in a partnership between MEZCOPH and ADU. In addition, with UArizona Provost Liesl Folks, Dean Hakim met with officials from Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai as a first step towards future cooperation.
All of these meetings helped to build our educational partnerships in the Middle East, another step in our growing network of collaboration to improve public health globally.
