The Public Health Career Fair organized by the college’s Academic Health Department brought together regional health departments and non-profits with students looking to find public health jobs after they graduate, a win-win for everyone involved.

The college’s Academic Health Department hosted a Spring 2023 Career Fair at the end of March in the Walkway of Wellness outside Drachman Hall. This was the first career fair since the start of COVID-19 where students had the opportunity to engage in-person with potential employers from a range of organizations such as local health departments and nonprofits. We were pleased to host representatives from Pima County Health Department, Maricopa County Department of Public Health, Southeast Arizona Health Education Center (SEAHEC), Tu Nidito, and many others.
Public health students, health sciences students, and alumni were invited to attend the Career Fair, which was held on the morning of Thursday, March 30. It was a cold and windy morning (unlike the previous warm day!) but that did not stop 12 health services organizations from engaging with our students to directly share opportunities for employment and internships. Thanks to all the employers and students who showed up to connect!
In the Academic Health Department, we know that we have amazing students, and that MEZCOPH is the only accredited college of public health in the State of Arizona. Health departments, health service providers, and nonprofits around our state know this too, and that is why they seek out our graduates when they have open positions. We are proud of our students who graduate with the highest level of academic, scientific, and professional experience – knowledge and skills that prepare them to become successful professionals in the public health workforce and make a difference in the lives of others.
