    Before entering the program:

Before entering the MPH program, I was working as a physician in Ghana, where I was actively involved in clinical practice and research. As a physician, I had the opportunity to work directly with patients, diagnose and treat various medical conditions, and participate in clinical research studies aimed at improving healthcare outcomes. My experience in both clinical practice and research motivated me to pursue further education in public health, as I sought to broaden my understanding of population health issues and contribute to addressing health disparities on a global scale.

Why did you choose public health?

I chose public health because of its overarching mission to improve the health and well-being of populations. As a medical doctor, I realized that while clinical care is essential, it often addresses health issues at the individual level. Public health, on the other hand, offers a broader perspective, focusing on prevention, health promotion, and addressing systemic factors that influence health outcomes. I am drawn to the interdisciplinary nature of public health, which allows for collaboration across various sectors to address complex health challenges. Ultimately, I am passionate about making a meaningful impact on the health of communities and pursuing public health allows me to do just that on a larger scale.

    Why did you choose MEZCOPH?

I chose MEZCOPH because of its renowned faculty, diverse student body, and comprehensive curriculum. The college's commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement aligns with my academic and professional goals in public health. Additionally, the opportunity to work on research projects and gain practical experience in the field through internships greatly appealed to me. Overall, MEZCOPH offers the ideal environment for me to grow as a public health professional and make a meaningful impact in addressing global health challenges.

    Public health interests:

Epidemiology: I am fascinated by the science of epidemiology and its role in studying the distribution and determinants of disease, as well as designing and evaluating public health interventions. Infectious Disease Control: I am interested in strategies for preventing, detecting, and controlling infectious diseases, with a focus on surveillance, vaccination, and outbreak response.

    Interests/hobbies outside of school:

    Swimming and reading novels.
