About the Minor
Data science is emerging as a leading area for job growth in the health sector. The minor in Population Health Data Science will introduce students to the fundamentals of data science in the health sciences, and provide them with the skills to manage, analyze, and interpret big data. The Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health is dedicated to promoting health and wellness of individuals and communities in the southwest and globally with an emphasis on achieving health equity through excellence in research, teaching, and service. Our Minor in Population Health Data Science serves as an extension of our mission to promote health and social justice locally and globally.
Note: Main Campus Only. Students with a BS in Public Health are not eligible to declare the One Health minor. Students with a BA in Wellness and Health Promotion Practice may apply 6 units toward both their major and the One Health minor.
A minimum of 18 units is required to complete the One Health minor.

How to Declare the Minor
STEP ONE
Take time to review the minor options and requirements to ensure you choose the minor best suited for your career goals and interest. Note: All minors have a GPA requirement in order to declare.
STEP TWO
Complete the online Public Health Minor Declaration Form. Note: Admission into the minor does not guarantee entry into public health courses, as course registration depends on meeting course pre-requisites and course availability.
STEP THREE
See the academic advising page to determine your academic advisor (determined by the student's campus and last name). Once the minor has been added to your program in UAccess, you will have access to meet with your assigned minor advisor.
