This year’s Symposium will be held virtually via a Zoom webinar on: Friday, March 19, 2021 from 8am to 2:30pm. A pre-event film screening will be held the night before the event on March 18. The annual Social Justice Symposium facilitates dialogue surrounding the interrelationship of social issues and health between students, faculty, community partners, and other health professionals.
The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Fighting Health Inequities through Racial Justice: A Public Health Lens,” which will use public health to explore health inequities as a result of racism/racial injustice across an array of topics such as maternal and child health, mental health, COVID-19 outcomes and prevention, nutritional disparities and chronic disease prevention.
