Join us for an insightful MAP Talk webinar on Wednesday, September 18th, from 12:00 to 1:30 pm (MST), where we will explore Arizona's heat-related health impacts. This event is part of the MAP (Making Action Possible) Dashboard project, which aims to improve Southern Arizona through data-driven action and education, providing essential information about the region's progress in education, health, infrastructure, and more.
Our distinguished speakers include Heidi E. Brown, Ph.D., and Slade Smith, J.D., both esteemed faculty members from the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) at the University of Arizona. Heidi is from the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Slade is the Assistant Director of the Applied Health Policy Institute. They will delve into the critical issue of rising heat-related deaths in Arizona, with Slade presenting key findings from the white paper "Why has Arizona's Heat-Related Death Rate Increased Tenfold in Twenty Years?" published on the MAP Dashboard.
The webinar, featuring Jennifer Pullen, Senior Research Economist and MAP Dashboard Coordinator, and George Hammond, Director of the Economic and Business Research Center (EBRC), will last 60-90 minutes with a Q&A session at the end. Spots are limited to 500 participants, so make sure to register now!
