The University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health will host a free screening of the documentary film, Who is Dayani Cristal?
The screening will take place Thursday, August 23 from 5-6:30 p.m. in Drachman Hall, Room B109, 1295 N. Martin Ave., Tucson
The body of an unidentified immigrant is found in the Arizona Desert. In an attempt to retrace his path and discover his story, director Marc Silver and Mexican actor and activist Gael Garcia Bernal embed themselves among migrant travelers on their own mission to cross the border, providing rare insight into the human stories which are so often ignored in the immigration debate.
A Q&A panel discussion with community leaders featured in the film will follow the movie.
The event is hosted by Learning, Understanding & Cultivating Health Advocacy (LUCHA), a graduate student organization at the UA Zuckerman College of Public Health.
