Why choose the UA / What’s awesome about the UA:The UA is an amazing community that anyone can fit into. Aside from having great academics it's a place where you will make lifelong friends and connections. Encouraging and engaging with students helps everyone come together to thrive and be successful through their experience at the UA. This goes for Undergrad and Grad students.
Why did you choose public health?Public Health has so many opportunities in the Healthcare sector. Coming into this college it was one of my best decisions and sticking with my major, I thought I wanted to do nursing but after taking one Public Health class I knew this is where I wanted to stay. What I found most interesting was how much we do to prevent issues from arising.
What are your career goals:My career goals will probably change from now to when I graduate. For now, in my sophomore mind, I want to spread awareness to my community what most interests me is Women's Health and that is what I want to focus on. I think ideal staying here in Tucson would be in my best interest just because I see issues first-hand and I would love to see a change our society.
Fun Fact about you (hobbies, trivia, etc.):Baking/cooking and arts and crafts. I am a very hands-on person I love coming up with ideas and seeing something coming together at the end. Although, I don't have much extra time on my hands I like doing these things once in a while.
One piece of advice for incoming students (transfer and freshmen):Make time for your personal self-care. Plan out at least one day out of the week to focus on that makes you happy, maybe going out to lunch with friends or sleeping in all day. Whatever it is, do it don't get caught up in only doing school things because it can get overwhelming.
