The learning experience in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the College is one built on a sound foundation in statistical and scientific theory and reinforced by opportunities to apply learned skills in real-world situations.
Multi-disciplinary collaborations between the department and its partners provide students with a wide range of learning experiences that not only build fundamental knowledge, but also provide practical skills in the field and in the lab.
Programs within the department train students for careers in research, teaching in academic settings, government agencies and private industry. They have been designed for students whose careers will focus on conducting investigator-initiated and collaborative epidemiological and biostatistical research.

Depending on degree, students will complete either an internship, thesis or dissertation. The strong relationships between the department and our partners provides students with many options for completing these important projects.
Our students also enjoy a low faculty to student ratio as well as small class size which provides more opportunities for advising and mentoring relationships with faculty.
